A piece of the homeworld, Gaia's body and soul. The one true land.
Gaia's soil is the soil that was found in one of the dead gardens inside the
Colony Ship U.E.F London. Knowing that the soil on these gardens is infact a piece of the homeworld, the
Cult of Helios is using it as a way to raise additional funds for their missions. Considering that it is estimated the gardens had over 70 tons of soil and that each gram of it is sold for 5milion credits, the cult is able to ration the amount given out and contol the price of these relics to gather an extrordinary amount of credits.
The soil although no longer biologically active it is host to mllions of skeletal remains and impressions of micro organisms and substances that in some cases are not known to exist in any of the worlds of
The Reach.
Each of the high priestesses and priests of the cult is ordained by being given a vial containing 25 grams of Gaia's Soil which they hold around their neck on a chain made of the titanium of the walls of the Mothership. The priestesses of Aphrodite are known to have a single mutated orchid which is planted on the soild of the garden. The vase of the Orchid is located in its of the priestess's sanctum on their Chapels.
Not counting the vaults of the Cult of Helios, the largest amount of Gaia's soil is located on
Vega at the grounds of the Accord's Senate. The cup filled with the soil is held by the statue of Atlas in the middle of the senat's floor.
