Ocular implants replace one of your organic eyes with a cybernetic camera module that pipes into your existing nervous system. Most people will not see a significant difference in their perception between their organic eye and their synthetic one outside an enlarged focus, as it normally works as expected right after surgery. The eye can be stylised in whatever form the customer wants, changing color and appearance to suit their taste.
However, the main reason people install one of these is to combine it with a NeuroBus and additional upgrades and plugins such as a Camera Plugin. With an ocular implant, several upgrades can be installed to allow detection of things you would not normally see, such as EM fields, IR or even providing context highlighting together with a neural computer, such as highlighting things that are out of place, or search for specific materials such as blood.
These upgrades are common among crime-scene investigators, for instance. Using ocular implants, you gain +1 on all Perception
