Ghostly pale and hauntingly thin, Balendik often appear near crossroads at night, whispering secrets or misdirecting travelers with illusions. Despite their eerie reputation, they rarely harm unless provoked.
Darkvision: Thanks to Tikbalang supernatural origins, they can see in dim light within 60 feet of them as if it were bright light, and darkness as if it were dim light.
Equine legs: Tikbalang have advantage on Athletics checks to jump. However, nonmagical climbing is difficult for them—when climbing, each foot of movement costs 4 extra feet.
Eerie presence: Balendik gain proficiency in Intimidation. If they already have proficiency, they add double their proficiency bonus.
Smoke and shadow: Tikbalang can move through difficult terrain made of natural underbrush or vegetation without expending extra movement.
False path: Balendik can cast the Minor Illusion cantrip. At 3rd level, they can cast Disguise Self once per long rest. At 5th level, they can cast Misty Step once per long rest. Their spellcasting ability for these spells is Intelligence.
Apparitional form: Balendik have resistance to necrotic damage.
