With silence there is stillness; next explosive hatred.   Within the area of a the spell centred on the magician, all melee attacks have their critical damage improved by one die in damage and attack rolls improved by two, for example:  
  • creature with critcal roll of 20 and critical damage of 2d8 becomes critical roll of 18-20 and critical damage of 3d8
At higher levels: For every tow spell slots above 3rd, Great Slaughter causes all melee attacks have their critical damage improved by one die in damage and attack rolls improved by two
