An oryx is a species of desert-dwelling antelope indigenous to Nioa and parts of Hakoa. They are hardy beasts and often hunted as excellent game because of their meat and unique spiral horns.

All oryx species prefer near-desert conditions and can survive without water for long periods. They live in herds of up to 600 animals, though usually, environmental factors limit the size of their herds to under two dozen adults. They are found in hills, deserts, grasslands, and scrublands terrain.
