Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw, taking 5 2d4 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Adders are a kind of venomous snake found throughout most of Holos. Their venom varies in lethality and the most common species only attack when provoked, such as being stepped on or taunted. Still, adders are feared by most mortal cultures, who consider them dangerous and related to the terrifying chromatic dragons of legend.
Adders is found in a variety of habitats, including: rocky hillsides, moors, sandy deserts, meadows, temperate and subtropical woodlands, sunny glades and clearings, and stone quarries. It will venture into wetlands if dry ground is available nearby and thus may be found on the banks of streams, lakes, and ponds. They have the ability to swim short distances but are by no means aquatic.
