Valkyrie Prosthesis in Dungeons & Dragons 5e

Valkyrie Prosthesis

Wondrous Item

Very Rare Requires attunement by someone missing a Limb

Forged from Auricite, a rare celestial alloy known for its resonance with both divine and arcane forces, the Valkyrie Prosthesis are a masterwork of magical engineering. Crafted by lost artificer in service to The Ever Light Order, these prosthetic limbs were designed not merely to restore what was lost—but to transform it into something greater.
The Valkyrie Prosthesis replaces a missing arm or leg. It seamlessly bonds with your body over the course of a long rest, functioning as a fully articulated limb. While attached, the prosthesis grants the following benefits:

Wings of Steel. The Valkyrie Prosthesis features a specialized integration system known as the Wings of Steel—a celestial interface that allows it to bond with specially-forged weapons known as Valkyrie Weapons (see separate magic items list). During a Long or Short rest you can bond a Valkyrie Weapon to the prosthesis, causing it to fold seamlessly into the limb’s structure. While bonded in this way:
- The weapon gains the finesse property if it does not already have it.
- When you hit with the bonded weapon, it deals an additional 1d4 radiant damage.
- You can deploy or retract the weapon into the prosthesis as a bonus action.
- You cannot be disarmed of the bonded weapon unless you are incapacitated.
You can have only one Valkyrie Weapon bonded to the prosthesis at a time. Bonding a new weapon replaces the previous one. The bond lasts until you unbind the weapon or attune to a different one.

Aegis Circuit. When you are hit by a weapon attack or a spell that deals damage, you can use your reaction to parry the incoming force with the Valkyrie Prosthesis. When you do, reduce the damage taken by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus as the prosthesis deflects or dissipates the impact. If this reduces the damage to 0, you may Redirect the spell or attack back at the attacker dealing the damage to them instead.

Celestial Conductivity. Due to the nature of Auricite, the prosthesis resonates with celestial energy:
- You have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed or stunned.
- If you are a spellcaster, you may treat the prosthesis as a spellcasting focus.
