Description.
This strange dagger-hilt contains no visible blade. Instead, a rotating ring near the top opens a small aperture, revealing a dormant mana crystal cradled within a rune-etched mechanism. When activated, the hilt emits a short, concentrated jet of flame — forming a 10 cm long blade of blue-hot fire. The flame is unnaturally focused, humming with magical control and precision.The Molten Blade holds 10 charges and regains 1d8 + 2 charges at the end of each long rest.
Activating or deactivating the blade requires a free object interaction. While active, the blade consumes 1 charge per round (6 seconds).
The flame sheds bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet.
Thermal Cutter (1 charge)
As an action, you can use the blade to cut through or weld up to 1 foot of a nonmagical material, provided it could reasonably melt or be altered by extreme heat (such as wood, rope, ice, or common metals like iron or steel).Examples
Cutting: You can slice open crates, doors, locks, thin walls, or armor plates (DM’s discretion).Melding: You can fuse metal surfaces together, seal cracks or bond items into a single object.
