Plague Doctor Mask
Other
Common
Description.
A mask with a raven or crow like beak, with an early air filtration system built into it. The air would pass through a filter of fragnant herbs steeped in faintly magical cleansing oils. It made it harder for infections or poisons in the air to affect the wearer. These masks were often worn by healers and medics in battlefields to avoid any magical poison in the air or deceases on the dead around them.
The theory is that the original designers chose the Crow and Raven like beak for the design, wanted to refer to the Crow King and Raven Queen who govern death and life, implying that those who wear these masks act in their stead as medics.
