Legendary Altered Appearance

Charge Absorption:
When you successfully hit a humanoid with the dagger, it gains one charge. The dagger can hold a maximum of one charge at a time.  
Facestealing Illusion:
As an action, you can expend the charge stored in the dagger to create a visual illusion, transforming your appearance to match that of the humanoid the charge was gained from. This transformation:  
  • Changes your physical appearance to match the target, including clothing, armor, weapons, and belongings on your person.
  • Lasts for up to 10 hours or until you use an action to dismiss it.
  • Is a purely visual illusion; your physical attributes (e.g., size category, voice, abilities) remain unchanged.
Deceptive Aura:
Creatures attempting to see through the illusion must make a DC 18 Investigation check. If you are attuned to the dagger, this check is made at disadvantage.  
Venomous Sting:
When you score a critical hit with the dagger, the target must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned, the target has disadvantage on saving throws and ability checks.  

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When attuned, the Facestealer Dagger gains additional abilities, reflecting its divine connection to Inagi.  
Endless Facestealing:
The dagger can now hold up to three charges at a time. When you expend a charge to create an illusion, you can use additional charges to extend the illusion's duration by 5 hours per charge.  
Perfect Mimicry:
While under the illusion, your voice and mannerisms match the target’s. Creatures must succeed on a DC 22 Insight check to detect the illusion, regardless of Investigation checks.  
Serpent’s Bite:
The dagger’s critical hit range increases to 19-20. On a critical hit, the target also takes 2d10 psychic damage in addition to the poisoning effect.  

Special Ability: Shadow Doppelgänger

Once per long rest, you can expend all charges stored in the Facestealer Dagger to create a shadowy duplicate of the humanoid you mimicked. The duplicate:  
  • Appears within 30 feet of you and obeys your verbal commands for up to 1 hour.
  • Has the stats of a Shadow (MM pg. 269), with additional hit points equal to your level.
  • Cannot speak but moves and acts convincingly like the target.
When the duplicate is destroyed or dismissed, the dagger becomes inert and cannot store charges until the next dawn.
