Ring
Legendary Trial of the Serpent’s Drink
Serpent's Insight:
While wearing the ring, your intuition sharpens to near preternatural levels. You gain:
- Advantage on Perception and Insight checks.
- The ability to reroll one failed ability check or saving throw per short rest.
Serpent's Gland:
The ring can store up to 5 slots of poison that are harvested and as a free action can be applied to a weapon, each poison has its own slot number (more deadly takes up more slots).
Serpent's Tongue:
While attuned, your eloquence is unmatched. You gain:
- Advantage on Persuasion and Deception checks.
- The ability to cast Suggestion (DC 18) without expending a spell slot, twice per long rest.
Serpent's Veil:
Once per long rest, you can invoke the Serpent’s Veil, surrounding yourself with a shroud of illusion for 10 minutes. While active:
- You become invisible to creatures relying on sight.
- Your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
- Creatures attempting to detect you must succeed on a DC 20 Perception check.
Serpent's Bond:
As an action, you can touch a serpent or serpent-like creature to establish a telepathic bond with it for 1 hour. This connection allows you to:
- Perceive the creature’s senses (sight, smell, and hearing).
- Issue simple commands it will follow to the best of its ability.
- Share this bond with serpents within a 30-foot radius.
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
When attuned, the Serpentcoil Ring unlocks its true potential, entwining itself with the wearer’s essence.
Venomous Sovereignty:
Your Serpent's Bite ability now deals 6d8 poison damage. On a critical hit, the target must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute.
Masterful Eloquence:
You gain the ability to cast Mass Suggestion once per long rest (DC 20).
Your spoken words carry divine persuasion, granting you advantage on Charisma-based checks against creatures of any alignment.
Serpent’s Cloak:
The Serpent’s Veil lasts for 1 hour and grants you advantage on Dexterity saving throws while active.
Legion of Scales:
While using Serpent’s Bond, you can summon a swarm of spectral serpents to aid you in battle. As an action, summon a swarm of Giant Poisonous Snakes (MM pg. 327) within 30 feet for 1 minute. These serpents are friendly to you and act on your turn. You can use this ability once per long rest.
Special Ability: Tongue of Serpents
Once per long rest, you can invoke Inagi’s blessing to command creatures with serpentine traits. As an action:
- All serpentine creatures within 120 feet must make a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, they fall under your control for 10 minutes, acting on your verbal commands.
- Non-serpentine creatures within the area must make a DC 20 Charisma saving throw or be charmed by you for 1 minute.
The Serpentcoil Ring is crafted from a luminous metal that shimmers like scales under sunlight, its surface cool to the touch. A detailed serpent motif coils around the wearer’s finger, its tail encircling the band while its head rests atop, adorned with gemstone eyes that gleam with unsettling intelligence. The ring is both elegant and dangerous, embodying the cunning and charm of Inagi, the god of Travel, Commerce, Communication, and Serpents. Worn by those seeking power through wit and subtlety, the Serpentcoil Ring bestows its wearer with abilities as serpentine as the god who forged it.
