Wondrous Item
Legendary Trial of Seasons
Seasonal Shroud:
The cloak changes properties based on the current season or one chosen by the wearer as a bonus action:
- Spring: You emit an aura of vitality. Allies within a 30-foot radius regain 1d6 hit points at the start of their turns.
- Summer: You gain resistance to fire damage, and creatures within 10 feet of you take 1d6 fire damage at the start of their turns.
- Autumn: Leaves fall in your wake, creating difficult terrain for hostile creatures in a 20-foot radius. Allies gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.
- Winter: You gain resistance to cold damage, and enemies who strike you with melee attacks must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or have their movement speed halved until the end of their next turn.
Leafguard:
When targeted by a ranged attack, you can use your reaction to conjure a swirling shield of leaves, imposing disadvantage on the attack roll. You can use this ability three times per long rest.
Nature’s Refuge:
As an action, you can use the cloak to vanish into a swirl of leaves, teleporting up to 60 feet to a location you can see. The area you leave behind becomes overgrown with magical foliage, creating difficult terrain for 1 minute.
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
When attuned, the Cloak of Falling Leaves unlocks its full potential, allowing the wearer to embody the cycles of life and decay.
Nature’s Endurance:
You gain immunity to poison and disease.
Hostile creatures in your aura have disadvantage on saving throws against spells you cast from the druid or nature spell list.
Eternal Seasons:
Once per short rest, you can activate the cloak to combine the effects of all four seasons for 1 minute. During this time:
- Allies within 30 feet regain 2d6 hit points at the start of their turns.
- Hostile creatures within 10 feet take 2d6 cold or fire damage at the start of their turns (your choice).
- The ground in a 20-foot radius becomes difficult terrain for enemies.
Falling Leaves of Renewal:
When reduced to 0 hit points, the cloak releases a burst of magical leaves that heal all allies within a 30-foot radius for 10d6 hit points. You regain 1 hit point and teleport to a location within 60 feet as the cloak regenerates your vitality. This ability recharges after a long rest.
Special Ability: Nature’s Tempest
Once per long rest, you can invoke Fretil’s blessing to unleash a tempest of magical leaves in a 120-foot radius. As an action:
- Hostile creatures in the area must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take 8d10 force damage and are restrained by magical vines and foliage for 1 minute. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not restrained.
- Allies in the area are healed for 6d10 hit points, have all conditions removed, and gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws for 1 minute.
- The area remains lush and magical for 24 hours, enhancing fertility and growth for all plant life.
The Cloak of Falling Leaves is a breathtaking mantle woven from enchanted, ever-falling leaves that shift in color and texture with the changing seasons. Each leaf is imbued with magic, shimmering faintly with a golden-green glow. When worn, the cloak billows gently as though touched by an eternal breeze. Created by Fretil, the goddess of Nature, Seasons, Fertility, and Childbirth, this artifact symbolizes the cycles of life and decay, offering its wearer the ability to embody the ever-changing beauty of nature.
