Kalblixt

Weapon

Legendary Trial of the Stormcaller

Stormstrike:
On a hit, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away and knocked prone.
Thunderous Echo:
As a bonus action after landing a melee attack, you can unleash a burst of thunderous energy. All creatures within 10 feet of you must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 3d8 thunder damage and be deafened until the end of their next turn.
Tempestuous Leap:
While wielding Kalblixt, you can channel its storm energy to leap up to 30 feet as part of your movement. When you land, all creatures within 10 feet take 2d6 lightning damage.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When attuned, Kalblixt reveals its full storm-infused power, becoming an extension of the wielder’s connection to the sky and storm.
Stormlord’s Wrath:
Lightning damage dealt by the maul increases to 4d10. Creatures that fail their saving throw against Stormstrike are stunned until the end of their next turn.
Conductive Force:
Whenever you hit a creature with the maul, a bolt of lightning arcs to another creature of your choice within 30 feet, dealing 2d10 lightning damage.
Cyclone’s Protection:
As a reaction, you can summon a swirling wind around yourself, granting you resistance to all damage from a single attack or spell. This ability recharges after a short or long rest.

Special Ability: Eye of the Storm

Once per long rest, you can channel the full power of Kalblixt to create a devastating storm. As an action, you summon a storm in a 120-foot radius centered on yourself for 1 minute. During this time:
  • Lightning strikes a point of your choice within the storm each round, forcing all creatures within 10 feet of the strike to make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 10d10 lightning damage.
  • Wind and thunder roar through the area, imposing disadvantage on ranged attacks and Perception checks relying on hearing.
  • Hostile creatures in the area take 4d10 cold damage at the start of their turns as icy winds chill them to the bone.
When the storm ends, the area is left in a state of devastation, marked by scorched earth and frost-coated debris.

Kalblixt, the legendary maul, is said to have been forged in the heart of an eternal storm by Genai, the god of Sky, Air, Storms, Lightning, Thunder, and Cold. The weapon is immense, with a head of crackling blue crystal encased in enchanted steel, radiating a faint hum of energy. Its haft is carved from stormwood, a mythical tree that only grows where lightning has struck a hundred times. Every strike of the maul resonates with the sound of distant thunder, and sparks of lightning dance across its surface. Kalblixt embodies the raw, destructive power of the storm and the unyielding force of nature’s fury.
