Root Robe of Natzul

Armor (Medium)

Legendary Trial of the Wild Guardian

Living Armor:
The Root Robe automatically repairs itself and fits its wearer perfectly. It does not impose disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
Entangling Defense:
When a creature hits you with a melee attack, the robe reacts by sprouting vines that entangle the attacker. The creature must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of your next turn.
Nature’s Shield:
As a reaction to being hit by an attack, you can command the robe to sprout a thick shield of roots, reducing the damage by 3d10. You can use this ability three times per long rest.
Forest Stride:
While wearing the robe, you can move through non-magical difficult terrain caused by plants (such as thick undergrowth or brambles) without expending extra movement.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When attuned, the Root Robe becomes a conduit for Natzul’s mischief and natural power, enhancing its defensive and playful properties.
Thorned Retribution:
When a creature restrained by the robe’s vines takes damage, they take an additional 2d8 piercing damage from the thorns.
Rootwalker’s Camouflage:
You can use an action to become invisible while in a natural environment, such as a forest or jungle, for up to 1 hour or until you attack or cast a spell.
Verdant Vitality:
At the start of your turn, if you are in a natural environment, you regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.

Special Ability: Forest’s Fury

Once per long rest, you can invoke the Root Robe of Natzul to summon the wild power of the forest. For 1 minute:
  • Roots and vines erupt in a 30-foot radius centered on you, creating an area of magical difficult terrain for all hostile creatures.
  • Hostile creatures in the area must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw at the start of their turns or be restrained by the vines for 1 minute.
  • Allies in the area gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier at the start of their turns and can move through the vines without difficulty.
When the effect ends, the vines wither and recede, leaving the area lush and fertile.

The Root Robe of Natzul is a living garment, a robe made from interwoven vines, roots, and bark that constantly shift and grow as if alive. Moss and glowing fungi sprout along its surface, and it emanates a faint, earthy aroma. Despite its organic appearance, the robe provides incredible protection and flexibility, moving with the wearer as though part of their body. Created by Natzul, the god of Food, Drink, Mischief, and Forest Creatures, this artifact grants its wearer unparalleled connection to nature and the ability to confound foes with the playful and protective spirit of the forest.
