Legendary Trial of the Unyielding Wall

Unfolding Bulwark:

As a bonus action, you can deploy or stow Thrymscyld. When deployed, the shield provides a 10-foot-wide barrier, granting half cover to creatures standing directly behind you.

Immovable Defense:

While holding Thrymscyld, you cannot be moved against your will unless you choose to be. Any effect that would push, pull, or knock you prone instead fails automatically.

Strategic Command:

As a reaction when an ally within 30 feet is targeted by an attack, you can throw Thrymscyld, intercepting the attack. Roll a d20; on a roll of 10 or higher, the attack is redirected to you, and your AC applies. The shield then automatically returns to your gauntlet.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

Fortress Stance:

When you deploy Thrymscyld, you can anchor it to the ground, creating a 15-foot radius aura of defense. Allies within the aura gain a +2 AC bonus and resistance to all damage while they remain in the aura.

Tactical Mastery:

While holding Thrymscyld, you can use an action to survey the battlefield, granting all allies within 60 feet advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until the start of your next turn.

Reflection of Valor:

Whenever a creature within 10 feet of you makes a melee attack against you and misses, Thrymscyld reflects their attack back at them, dealing 4d6 radiant damage.

Special Ability: Bastion of the Battlefield

Once per long rest, you can activate the Bastion of the Battlefield, transforming Thrymscyld into an impenetrable fortress for 1 minute:  

• The shield unfurls to create a 20-foot-wide wall of radiant energy, providing full cover for all allies behind it.

• The wall emits an aura of protection in a 30-foot radius, granting resistance to all damage to allies within the area.

• Hostile creatures that touch the wall or attack through it take 6d10 radiant damage and must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute.

• While the Bastion of the Battlefield is active, you can still move, with the wall following you, though your movement speed is halved.

Thrymscyld is a masterwork of divine engineering and tactical ingenuity, gifted by Nidses, goddess of Tactics, Strength, War, Strategy, and Soldiers. When stowed, it appears as an unassuming gauntlet of dark iron with intricate runic engravings that glow faintly when touched. At a moment’s notice, the gauntlet transforms into a massive, indestructible shield that unfurls with a resounding metallic clatter, forming a bulwark large enough to protect not just the wielder but those nearby.

This artifact is a testament to the strength and strategy of Nidses, granting its wielder unparalleled defensive capabilities while maintaining the flexibility to adapt to any battlefield.
