Weapon
Legendary Trial of the Soul’s Archer
Astral Arrows:
When you attack with Arda, the arrows deal psychic damage instead of physical damage. Creatures with no soul (e.g., constructs) are immune to this damage.
Soul Severance:
On a critical hit, the target must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target’s soul is partially severed, reducing their maximum hit points by an amount equal to the psychic damage dealt. This effect lasts until the creature finishes a long rest or receives healing from a Greater Restoration spell or similar magic.
Empathic Strike:
You can choose to deal non-lethal damage with Arda, rendering a creature unconscious rather than killing them. Creatures brought to 0 hit points in this way fall into a deep, dreamlike state and are immune to further damage until awakened.
Soul Piercer:
The bow’s arrows ignore resistance to psychic damage, and creatures immune to psychic damage instead take half damage.
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
When attuned, Arda reveals its true astral potential, connecting its wielder to the plane of emotions and souls.
Luminous Guidance:
As a bonus action, you can grant yourself or an ally advantage on their next attack roll or saving throw. This ability can be used three times per long rest.
Spectral Barrage:
Once per short rest, you can unleash a flurry of astral arrows. As an action, make an attack against up to three creatures within range. Each target takes 4d10 psychic damage on a hit.
Soul Binding:
Once per long rest, you can tether the soul of a creature you strike. For 1 minute, the creature cannot regain hit points or gain temporary hit points. Additionally, its speed is reduced by half, and it has disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Special Ability: Harbinger of Redemption
Once per long rest, you can invoke Arda’s full power to create a celestial display of astral energy. As an action:
- Choose up to 5 creatures within 120 feet. Each creature must make a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, they take 8d12 psychic damage as their souls are struck with overwhelming force. On a successful save, they take half damage.
- Allies within the area are inspired by the radiant energy, regaining hit points equal to 6d10 and gaining advantage on all saving throws for 1 minute.
When the effect ends, the area is left shimmering with astral light, creating dim light in a 60-foot radius for 10 minutes.
Arda, the Astral Bow, is a masterfully crafted weapon of celestial beauty. Its frame is made of a shimmering, translucent material that seems to shift between silver and pale gold, and its string appears as a thin strand of starlight. When drawn, the bow manifests ethereal arrows of pure astral energy, which strike at the very essence of a creature’s soul. Created by Psyche, the goddess of the Soul, Music, Redemption, and Emotions, Arda is a weapon of profound power, designed to harm the spirit rather than the body, making it an exceptional tool for those who understand the delicate balance between destruction and redemption.
