Sunnscield

Weapon

Legendary Trial of the Solar Steed

Radiant Charge:
When wielded while mounted, the blade’s radiant energy surges. If you move at least 20 feet before making an attack, you deal an additional 2d10 radiant damage on a hit, and the target must make a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Daylight’s Edge:
You can use an action to cast Daylight from the blade, requiring no components. While Daylight is active, the sword’s attacks ignore resistance to radiant damage.
Solar Ward:
As a bonus action, you can channel the blade’s energy to create a radiant shield around you and your mount. The shield grants +2 AC and resistance to all damage except necrotic and psychic for 1 minute. You can use this feature once per short rest.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

Blinding Radiance:
When you score a critical hit, the blade releases a burst of sunlight. All hostile creatures within 20 feet must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or take 4d10 radiant damage and be blinded until the end of their next turn.
Wings of Solaris:
While attuned, you and your mount gain a flying speed of 60 feet. If unmounted, the blade creates spectral wings of light, granting you the ability to fly at the same speed.
Inspiring Presence:
Allies within 30 feet of you gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed and regain 2d8 hit points at the start of their turn while you are mounted and wielding Sunnscield.

Special Ability: Stampede of Light

Once per long rest, you can invoke the Stampede of Light, summoning a wave of celestial horses made of pure sunlight to trample your enemies:
  • As an action, unleash a 200-foot line (30 feet wide) of galloping solar steeds.
  • All creatures in the cone must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, creatures take 8d10 radiant damage and are knocked prone. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not knocked prone.
  • The ground within the line becomes seared with radiant energy, turning it into difficult terrain for 1 minute. Creatures ending their turn in this area take 2d10 radiant damage.
As the stampede fades, the sound of thunderous hooves lingers, inspiring all allies within 30 feet. Allies gain 10 temporary hit points and advantage on their next attack roll.
