Maneuvers
Lunging Thrust - Step forward 5 feet to make an attack against an opponent within 10 feet of you and return to where you were standing without using movement or provoking opportunity attacks. This maneuver can be performed once per turn.
Blunt Strike - As a Bonus Action after making a successful attack, make a sweeping attack with the blunt end for 1d8 AP II Bludgeoning damage and Stagger your opponent. Once you have used this maneuver, you must wait until after the end of your next turn before you can use it again.
Special Maneuvers
Flurry of Strikes - As an attack while the weapon is held in both hands, make a number of melee attacks equal to your Dexterity modifier for 2d8 AP II Piercing damage each. You may choose to attack one target or as many targets as you can make attacks with that are in range. Once you have used this maneuver, may use it again once you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Forceful Throw - Before you move on your turn, you may use this maneuver. As a ranged attack, you hurl the weapon with tremendous force, pushing a Medium or smaller target back up to 15 feet on a successful attack. If the target is pushed into a wall, they take falling damage and are restrained until the start of your next turn.
Sweeping Attack - As an attack while the weapon is held in both hands, make a sweeping attack with the bladed tip of the spear, dealing 2d8 AP I Slashing Damage to up to three targets within 5 feet of you. You must make an attack roll for each target. Once you have used this maneuver, may use it again once you finish a Short or Long Rest.

The Assegai is a traditional spear of the Neirubi elves, designed specifically as a throwing weapon, it was used in hunts and one-on-one fights early on before the Neirubi took up firearms usage. Its shorter Oruni-made cousin, the Ixwa, was used by their mounted vanguard atop the windstriders, after a significant change in martial doctrine leading to all-out warfare tactics. Shortly after contact with colonizers attempting to overtake their lands, they adopted firearms in favor of the now-obsolete Assegai. It was still kept as a symbol of their pride and independence. With the thunder of gunpowder and lead attracting the attention of monsters in Ukuvuleka, the Neirubi have turned back towards more traditional, cleaner and quieter weapons of war like the Assegai, which is now often paired with spellcasting.
