Windtwist Isles: The Evening Lands Book 3
Goes Live Jan 9, 2026
In search of Laken's next essence, Vantra and the mini-Joyful travel to the Windtwist Isles, a tropical paradise within the Sea of Winds. Known for their majestic views and sandy beaches, the visit seems like a holiday rather than a work-intensive endeavor.
Yet work they must. Lorgan's previous research tracked Laken's sundered essence to Tempest Island, but an exact location eluded him. Diving into newspaper articles and histories might lead them to the essence, but without access to the local Finders' chapter and their expansive library, information proves elusive.
The setbacks increase Vantra's worries about Laken's Redemption and the enemies allied against them. She throws herself into magical study, but broadening her understanding of her abilities plods along, even when she most wishes to fly. Something is wrong, and she struggles to figure out what.
Her personal travails are not the only problem. Mera and Tally's excitement over a visit home crashes into a secret their families have kept from them, one that they can no longer hide. Mera's husband, Gedall, upset at her prolonged absence, left in search of adventure as well—but instead of a caravan, he hooked up with a shady organization called the Wind Revenants.
While searching for Gedall, the mini-Joyful discover the Wind Revenants' over-the-top promises of maritime excitement covers a darker purpose. Gossip abounds about deadly deeds, and evidence points to Knights of the Finders and Deri Glora pirates involvement.
Ex-Darkness deity Rezenarza swears the Deri Glora are not acting under his command, but Vantra does not know if they can believe him. Matters worsen as they realize Machella's machinations have reached Tempest, prompting Katta and the guardian Light-blessed to view all non-Joyful with suspicion as they protect a still-recovering Qira.
Vantra feels as if she and the mini-Joyful twist in the winds, with no true shelter in sight.
