Her colleagues joke that she notices things before they happen. While not literally true, River possesses an extraordinary talent for recognizing patterns buried within overwhelming amounts of data. Strange transmissions, unusual stellar phenomena, and subtle sensor anomalies frequently catch her attention long before automated systems flag them.

Away from her station she is quiet, thoughtful, and surprisingly artistic, filling notebooks with sketches of nebulae, planetary horizons, and strange objects detected by the ship’s scanners. River joined WayCorp because she believes there are still great mysteries waiting to be found in the darkness between the stars.
