Mysterious, otherworldly, and deeply tied to the spirit of the land, Tikbalang are fey-touched beings from the dense rainforests, misty mountain trails, and abandoned roads of the world. With long-limbed humanoid torsos and the equine heads and legs of spectral horses, they are protectors, tricksters, or travelers—depending on which tale you believe.
Most Tikbalang revere the old forest spirits and are wary of human civilization, though some are curious and wander among people in disguise or service. All Tikbalang command a mix of eerie presence and primal mystery, and each type carries a connection to the world’s elemental and spiritual forces.
Darkvision: Thanks to Tikbalang supernatural origins, they can see in dim light within 60 feet of them as if it were bright light, and darkness as if it were dim light.
Equine legs: Tikbalang have advantage on Athletics checks to jump. However, nonmagical climbing is difficult for them—when climbing, each foot of movement costs 4 extra feet.
Trickster's wiles: Tikbalang are proficient in the Deception skill.
Smoke and shadow: Tikbalang can move through difficult terrain made of natural underbrush or vegetation without expending extra movement.
