Multiattack. The legionary makes two gladius attacks. Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage. Javelin. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5ft. or 30/120ft., one target. Hit 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage. If the target is wielding a shield and this attack misses by an amount equal to the target's shield bonus or less, the pilum becomes deformed and unusable, lodging itself in the target's shield. As long as the pilum is lodged in that shield, the shield provides no bonus to AC. Any creature can dislodge the pilum by spending an action to make a DC 12 Strength check.
