Traits

Leaping Ambush. If the Utahraptor was hidden at the start of its turn, it's Razor-Clawed Kick gains the followingbenefits this turn:

  • An additional +3 to hit.
  • An additional 1d8 + 3 slashing damage (as the weight of Utahraptor rends its claws down the target's body).
  • Any Medium or smaller creature hit by it is knocked prone.
Athletic and Pneumatized. The Utahraptor can jump up to 30 ft. from standing and it takes half damage from falling.   Grappling Predator. If a creature smaller than Utahraptor is hit by Utahraptor's Razor-Clawed Kick, that creature is grappled (escape DC 17).
If a creature the same size category as, or larger than, Utahraptor is hit by two Razor-Clawed Kick attacks in the same turn, it is grappled (escape DC 20).   Social Hunter. If more than one Utahraptor is tracking a creature together, they all have advantage on Survival and Perception checks to track that creature.   Mimicking Cry. The Utahraptor can imitate the sound of any creature or noise it has heard with accuracy, much like a parrot. It tends to use this ability while hiding to lure prey closer to it.
If a creature uses its action to examine the sound, it can determine that it is a mimicked effect with a successful DC 14 Investigation check.   Throw. Once per turn, when your companion has a creature grappled and takes the Attack action, it can replace one of its attacks with a special melee attack. Instead of an attack roll, it makes a Strength or Dexterity (Athletics) check contested by the target’s Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (target’s choice). If your companion succeeds, it can move the creature to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of it and can knock it prone, dealing bludgeoning damage to it equal to two rolls of your companion’s Martial Strikes damage dice.


Actions

Multiattack. If Utahraptor chooses the attack action, it may make one Vicious Bite attack and one Razor-Clawed Kick attack or two Martial Strike Attack's.   Vicious Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage.   Razor-Clawed Kick. Melee Weapon Attack: +8, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage.   Martial Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5th., one target. Hit: 5 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage.   Charge. As an action, your companion gains additional movement equal to its speed, and it can make one Martial Strike attack. If your companion moves up to 20 feet straight towards a creature and then hits it with a Martial Strike, the attack deals an extra 1d10 damage, and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC equals 8 + your companion’s Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be knocked prone. A creature more than one size larger than your companion automatically succeeds on this saving throw.


Bonus Actions

Grapple. As a bonus action, your companion can attempt to grapple one creature within its reach by making a grapple check.   Dancing Feet. As a bonus action, your companion can take the Disengage action


Reactions

Block. As a reaction when your companion is attacked by a creature it can see and that attack deals bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, your companion can add your proficiency bonus to its AC against that attack, potentially turning a hit into a miss. If the attack still hits, the damage dealt is reduced by an amount equal to 1d6 plus your proficiency bonus.
