Weapon
Legendary Trial of the Creator
Forge the Impossible:
While wielding the hammer, you can forge or craft anything you can imagine. The item created is of perfect craftsmanship, requiring raw materials equal to its intended weight and value. However, creating an object with magical properties requires you to sacrifice part of your life force (reducing your maximum hit points by 10 per rarity tier of the item).
Smite of Creation:
When you strike a creature with the hammer, you can unleash a wave of destructive energy. All creatures within 30 feet of the target must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or take 4d10 radiant damage and be knocked prone. This ability can be used three times per long rest.
Unyielding Inspiration:
You gain proficiency with all artisan’s tools and can add double your proficiency bonus to any checks made with them.
Creator’s Burden:
Each time you craft an object of extraordinary complexity or enchantment, you must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or suffer one level of Creator’s Madness (see below).
Creator’s Madness Table
Roll (1d6) Effect
- 1 You are overwhelmed by visions of your creations. You cannot take reactions and have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws for 24 hours.
- 2 You lose your ability to speak for 1d12 hours as your mind becomes flooded with divine blueprints.
- 3 You are charmed by any creature you have crafted an item for, believing them to be a divine muse, until a Greater Restoration spell is cast on you.
- 4 You take 10d10 psychic damage as your mind fractures under the weight of divine knowledge.
- 5 You are unable to craft or forge for 7 days as your creativity becomes paralyzed by fear of imperfection.
- 6 You are permanently cursed, taking disadvantage on all Intelligence and Wisdom checks until you complete a monumental act of creation (DM’s discretion).
Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)
When attuned, the Hammer of Buaos reveals its full divine potential, granting its wielder unparalleled power to shape reality.
Divine Forgemaster:
When crafting magical items, the life force cost is halved, and the time required is reduced by 90%.
Masterwork Precision:
You can forge artifacts. Doing so requires a year of crafting and materials of divine rarity. The item becomes an artifact after completion.
Genesis Strike:
Once per long rest, you can strike the ground with the hammer, creating a 60-foot radius explosion of radiant energy. All creatures of your choice in the area take 15d10 radiant damage and are knocked prone. Structures and terrain in the area are reshaped at your will.
Special Ability: Forge of Eternity
Once per long rest, you can invoke the Hammer of Buaos to create a permanent Forge of Eternity, a celestial forge that allows you to:
- Instantly repair any damaged item or structure, regardless of its size or condition.
- Enchant a mundane item to become a +3 magical weapon, armor, or tool (requires 1 hour).
- Craft an entirely new item of your imagination in 24 hours (DM’s discretion).
The forge lasts for 24 hours and disappears afterward, leaving behind no trace.
The Hammer of Buaos is a colossal forge hammer of divine origin, its head forged from a shimmering alloy of celestial metals, constantly shifting between gold, silver, and bronze hues. Its shaft is wrapped in blackened leather, glowing with molten runes of creation and invention. The hammer emanates an overwhelming aura of potential and brilliance, humming faintly with the promise of boundless creation.
Crafted by Buaos, the god of the Forge, Craftsmanship, Invention, and Blacksmiths, this tool was used to shape every artifact of the gods before their essences were bound to their creations. The Hammer of Buaos holds the unparalleled power to forge anything the wielder can imagine, but such power comes at a cost—mortal minds risk succumbing to madness, unable to withstand the burden of divine ingenuity.
