Stormwarden’s Aegis

Armor (Heavy)

Legendary Trial of the Stormwarden

Aura of the Storm:
While wearing the armor, you emit an aura of stormy energy in a 10-foot radius. Hostile creatures in the aura take 1d8 lightning damage at the start of their turns.
Static Charge:
Whenever you are hit by a melee attack, the attacker takes 1d6 lightning damage.
Windborne Defense:
While wearing the armor, you can cast Feather Fall or Levitate at will without expending a spell slot.
Thunderous Leap:
As a bonus action, you can leap up to 30 feet in any direction. When you land, all creatures within 10 feet must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d8 thunder damage and be knocked prone.

Enhanced Properties (Post-Attunement)

When attuned, the Stormwarden’s Aegis unlocks its full potential, bonding its power to the wearer’s will.
Tempest’s Resilience:
You gain immunity to lightning damage and resistance to cold and thunder damage. Your AC increases by +1.
Cyclonic Ward:
As a reaction, you can summon a shield of swirling wind to deflect an attack. The attacker must reroll their attack roll and take the lower result. This ability can be used three times per long rest.
Stormlord’s Strike:
When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can channel the power of the storm through the armor, dealing an additional 4d10 lightning damage. You can use this ability three times per long rest.
Skyborne Flight:
You gain a fly speed of 60 feet while wearing the armor. If you also have the Fan of Four Winds, your fly speed doubles.

Special Ability: Wrath of the Tempest

Once per long rest, you can invoke Genai’s blessing to transform into a living storm. For 1 minute:
  • You emit an aura of crackling lightning and roaring wind in a 30-foot radius. Hostile creatures in the aura take 4d10 lightning damage at the start of their turns.
  • You gain Resistance to all damage except force damage.
  • As a bonus action on your turn, you can target a point within 60 feet to call down a bolt of lightning. Creatures within 10 feet of the target must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 8d10 lightning damage.
When the effect ends, the storm dissipates, leaving behind a faint echo of thunder in the distance.

The Stormwarden’s Aegis is a magnificent suit of silver and blue half plate, its surface etched with intricate Nordic-inspired runes that glow faintly with the energy of the storm. The armor hums softly, resonating with the distant sound of rolling thunder and the crisp chill of an oncoming storm. Lightning occasionally arcs across its surface, reflecting its divine origin. Forged by Genai, the god of Sky, Air, Storms, Lightning, Thunder, and Cold, this armor is both a shield against harm and a conduit for elemental power, designed for those who would stand as the guardians of the tempest.
